She is the founder and president of Lisa Hoffman Beauty.Hoffman was born in Los Angeles, California, to William Lawrence Gottsegen (1929-2012), and Marcia Francis Gottsegen (née Salter) (born 1929). She graduated from University of Colorado at Boulder in 1976 with a bachelor's degree in psychology.
Hoffman is married to American actor Dustin Hoffman. They married in Roxbury, Connecticuton October 12, 1980. Dustin Hoffman has one stepdaughter, Karina (born 1966) and a daughter with his first wife, Anne Byrne Hoffman, Jenna (born 1970).
